View from High Rise

What view?
It's just a white sheet of cold air. Gone are the country club view, tree line, lake view.
OK, there are blowing snow drifts.

In the midst of Chicago blizzard.
Comed blew off transformer. Everything is out in the high rise since last night. No TV, no water, no power in common area.
Luckily, our own building's generator is able to provide power to each condo unit.

ABZ tip: Always have a few extra bottles of water around. Never know when you just might need it.

Mac Lady at Mac Tutor

From time to time, I found myself giving unofficial tutoring to my colleagues or extended family members on using the mac. So I was thrilled to hear from my favorite Mac Lady, Marge. And learn that she has become an official mac tutor. She is a Mac Lady because she is very mac-like: friendly, efficient and helpful.

Google-1.pdf (217 KB)

Google has been an inspiration for many business and entrepreneurs worldwide. This doodle of JFK that Google posted today gives an insight to their business model.

Ask not what the world can do for Google. Ask what Google can do for the world. That's what Larry and Sergey have been doing since day one. They serve the world. They lead their company to serve the rest of us in this world wide web.

CEOs, executives, managers, business owners and entrepreneurs, ask what you can do for your customers.

WIFM? The Sound of Your Voice?

Many of us in Chicago area are so looking forward to attend a special program, "The Sound of Your Voice" by Kitty Kurth and Kevin Lampe of  KurthLampe.com on Thursday, Dec 9, from 6 to 9 pm at the IIT Rice Campus in Wheaton.

However, a few undecided had raised a great question, WIFM?

As the co-chair of the program, I take full responsibility for not listing the typical benefits of what you will get by attending this session in the previous blog. With 36-hours count down, I will explain the buzzzzz.

This wife-and-husband-team coach on pronunciation, intonation and the use of voice in a speech.
They will speak about the delivery of a speech follow by interactive exercises.

Kitty and Kevin are renown voice coaches working with International political, business and Hollywood figures. We feel that there are something that everyone could learn from them. Everyone who are communicators and wish to be better communicators.

Political opinions aside, no one could denial the power of the 2004 DNC speech that President Obama delivered. As Kevin Lampe, the speech coach who worked with Senator Obama then, said in an interview, he walked in as a senator pre-speech and walked out as a president to-be post speech.

It had been a big challenge to track them down and agreed to present. They adjusted their trip to Stockholm, Copenhagen, Brussels and London, in order to honor the commitment to present at our program.  As I am up loading this blog, they are flying over the Atlantic ocean, on their way back to Chicago.

Hope you all could join us, listen and learn about our own voices. This has been talked about as one of the few most attend program for everyone. Non-members are welcome.

If you are still undecided, show up anyway at 6 pm for a R & R. Attend a free reception. Then decide if you wish to register and join us at the auditorium.

Are you going to let the weather, the snow, the traffic, the this and that stop you from attending a rare opportunity of the greatest voice coaches? That's what separates the pro and the below.

And if you plan to join us, bring a few friends and family. You never know who is going to deliver the next great speech.
